(Continued from book 1)

Ben wasn't smart enough to know what was happening to him and didn't know how to defend himself. He was taken to the old Asylum and locked up with the worst criminals from all around. Ben didn't know he had done anything wrong, so the torment he was being put through was thought to be a choice that Charlotte had made for him.

Unbeknownst to the folks in Spooky Hollow, the Warden of the Asylum was allowing scientists to study the criminals to find out what made them the way they are. He thought it was for the good of society, a way to prevent future criminals. Over time, the experiments twisted Ben's mind into a thought process with one intent... getting back at Charlotte for her betrayal. He blamed her for his torment that every day dragged his mind deeper and deeper into a machine bent of revenge. He decided that for his revenge he would take everyone whom Charlotte had ever loved from her, leaving David for last. If she couldn't love him, then she couldn't love anyone!

One day, Ben was transferred into a special wing of the Asylum where the most progressive experiments were being done. Screams rang out through the halls, but they were the last that anyone ever heard from Ben the Butcher, until a cold morning in October the following month. Mysterious and frightful happenings began around Spooky Hollow...
